“Turn your air conditioner up to 26°C to save energy”, is what an article by the Courier Mail suggested. Said article created an uproar from locals, angry at the need to increase the temperature on their thermostat to ensure that the state didn’t run out of power.

While this practice will reduce the amount of electricity that you use, this could easily be swallowed up by other actions taken from being uncomfortable. 1.    Seal windows and doorways
